Blogging Mix - Quick News Update

A fellow blogger from Shanghai emailed me of the wonderful news that Technorati can already be accessed from within China as of today, July 27, 2007 (12:29 Beijing Time). The notorious Great Firewall of China blocked Technorati more than a year ago. It was believed that American blog coverage of Hu’s visit in the U.S. triggered a spike in Chinese readers interest in Technorati’s ‘China’ tag. Causing someone at Nanny Central to take note. Since then, bloggers from China can hardly access their Technorati account and has to go through a secured web proxy to access their account.

There’s no confirmation yet if the Net nannies in-charge of the Great Firewall has permanently removed Technorati from their blocked URL list. Hopefully, this will be for good. Subscribe to my feeds to get updates.
