In the Chinese custom, each year is designated with one of the “12 Earthly Branches” represented by 12 animals namely; the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Boar. These twelve animals symbolize what to expect in the year that each represents. According to the Chinese lunar calendar 2008 is the year of the RAT. Here’s what the zodiac has to say about the year of the rat (2008).

“The Rat year is a year of plenty, bringing opportunity and good prospects. It will be marked by speculation and fluctuations in the prices of commodities and the stock market; the world economy in general will boom. Business will be on the upswing, fortunes can be made and it will be an easy time to accumulate wealth. Here’s my own interpretation of the year of the “Rat”.

The rat year is a year of plenty, bringing opportunity and good prospects.

I believe that the year of the rat will see the explosion of review sites and advertising companies. Hopefully, this year will give birth to the company that will challenge Adsense. I also think that the year of the rat will give way to successful bloggers, and I see Blogging Mix as one of them :).

Year of the rat is marked by speculation and fluctuation.

As usual, I believe that the year of the rat will be filled with speculation as many hopeful bloggers are looking forward to regain their lost Google Page Rank. It is also marked by fluctuations so expect that your Google Page Rank will seesaw. I just hope that the Google Squad becomes more reasonable with their judgment.

The world economy in general will boom.

The Blogosphere will experience great changes. More opportunities for bloggers to monetize their blogs, more advertisers, more traffic, more blogs, more bloggers, more competition, more…

Time to make long-term investment plans.

Make sure you don’t forget to renew your hosting services or extend your domain name registration. If you can afford, pay more than one year as you will normally pay less than when you pay for a shorter period.

The year of the Rat is still ruled by the cold of winter and the darkness of night.

Simply put. Whether you like it or not, the year of the rat will still be ruled by Google.
